Career Development and Support

At Bellcare we recognise the importance of professional development, we believe in investing in our staff because it works. We actively recruit individuals with the potential to become leaders, managers or trainers, to name just a few of the roles we promote into.

We start career development right at the beginning of your employment with us, we analyse your training needs and requirements, we understand ambitions and the drive to succeed; we will actively encourage you, in return for your hard work and loyalty of course.

New Employees

Once you have been offered a position with Bellcare, you will need to present the documents required to process your Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check, we will tell you what to bring but in addition to this you must bring your Full Driving Licence and Insurance documents.

When we process your DBS we will also send for your references, one of which must be your current or last employer.

We will then book you in for the Company Induction, which includes basic theory training and will establish your training needs and requirements; that will take place over 3 days.

To prepare you for your new role you will be allocated a Mentor who will provide you with support and advice during you early months of employment with us. This period of practical training will allow you to get to know the service users that you will care for, learn routines and what these individuals’ needs and wishes are.

As well as your mentor you will be supported by:

  • Care workers in your team
  • Team On-call
  • Trainers
  • Area Coordinators
  • Senior Carers
  • Human Resources
  • Office staff
  • Senior Managers

All Bellcare employees have a company mobile telephone, so having a quick chat to find out any information or directions is free of charge and a very useful support mechanism, communication is the key to our business, so we encourage it.

We all understand what it is like to start a new job, we all have to start somewhere, we will be there to help.

Our Support for Existing Employees

Existing employees needs support too, your potential and skills will need to be developed, every employee will have the opportunity to have a one to one meeting with their line manager to discuss their progress, or to receive praise where it’s due. In addition to your one-to-one meetings, you will also have the opportunity to attend an annual Performance Appraisal, these meetings will give you honest feedback on your current performance and will plan for any training you will need over the next 12 months.

Throughout your employment you will be supported to be the best that you can be, just like you were when you first started employment with us.
